Creative  Healing  Movement

The body speaks to us and when we do not listen, it screams louder. Like a child being ignored, our body acts up to get attention.  When we stop and respond, we receive new options, movement, insight, and emotions. 

It is difficult to stop and listen.  We often prefer to numb the body's voice with caffeen, activity, alcohol, drugs, medications, and operations.  

All physical symptoms are connected to some message that the body is trying to offer, a guiding voice and resource. 

Movement Therapy or Creative Expression may help to connect with the internal guide, move through emotions, and beyond patterns. 

When we receive the internal message, our physical body begins the healing process.  Healing may offer a reduction in physical symptoms; night sweats, irregular periods, headaches, pain, or tension.

The practice of mindfulness, paying attention to body sensations without judgement or attachment, helps to begin each appointment.  

It is my intention to create a safe room and help others heal.  The space and time allows movement through pain and to receive new resources. 

My interest in the healing power of art and movement has lead me to study Psychosynthesis, Continuum Movement and Fluid Yoga.  I have had the honor of training under John Firman, Ann Gila, Emilie Conrad, Anna Halprin, and Angela Farmer. During my Masters studies in Counseling Psychology, I specialized in Somatic Psychology and Art Therapy.  After graduating, I spent five more years training in body mind healing methods.
